The challenge of
environmental conservation
and energy conservation
Kaneta Kogyo is working continuously towards energy conservation, reducing carbon dioxide emissions, reducing waste emissions, and increasing water resource conservation, following the environmental policy set by the company. As an ISO 14001 certified company, we pursue sustainable monozukuri (craftsmanship) through use of renewable energy and improvements to our facilities.
Environmental Policy
Kaneta Kogyo considers it to be an important mission of the company to contribute to conservation of the global environment through our business activities.
We comply with environmental laws, regulations, and ordinances, and continue to conduct improvement activities to reduce our environmental impact in all of our domains, such as energy conservation, waste reduction, and water resource conservation.
As an ISO 14001 certified company, we will contribute to realizing a sustainable society by focusing on systematic operation based on an environmental management system and raising the awareness of each individual employee.

Environmental Management & Organizational Structure
In 2025, we completely overhauled the structure of our Environmental Committee, and reorganized it into an organization that better reflects opinions from people in the field.
With a cross-departmental committee system, we have created a system in which representatives from each department take the initiative in working to improve energy conservation and environmental issues. This has enabled us to conduct highly effective environmental activities in which things we became aware of in the field can be immediately reflected in our measures.
The environmental management officer, various managers, and committee members work together as one team to promote the reduction of environmental impact.

Major Initiatives
Reduction of General Waste
Kaneta Kogyo is working based on its environmental management system to reduce waste generated in the field while checking the type and amount of waste generated according to the 3 Reality Principle; real places, real things, and real situations. Thus far, we have steadily reduced the total amount of waste we generate by collecting and reusing cases and packaging materials, and carefully sorting out recyclable waste. When we are unable to achieve our environmental goals or targets, we analyze the causes and ensure that we reflect improvements in the following fiscal year, and continue to conduct waste reduction activities while implementing the PDCA cycle (plan-do-check-act).

Improved Handling of Oil and Grease (reducing oil and grease resources and water resources)

Based on the findings of our environmental patrols, we are making improvements to how we handle oil and grease. As one example of this, by introducing an oil separator, we have been able to extend the life of oil and efficiently separate water-containing waste oil, which has allowed us to reduce the waste oil we generate by nearly half over the past five years. We are also reviewing the layout of our oil and grease storage and hazardous materials storage areas to at the same time improve health and safety and, and keep things tidy and in order. We also use these initiatives in employee training, with the aim of optimizing oil and grease resources as well as water resources.
Reducing Water Supply Usage

Based on the results of our environmental patrols, we have posted water-saving reminders on all floors to raise awareness among employees. We have confirmed that this initiative has had a certain effect on reducing water usage.
Going forward, we will keep implementing initiatives that combine equipment improvements, such as the adoption of automatic faucets, with the aim of achieving more sustainable water resource conservation.

Improving Air Leakage Prevention

From 2022 to 2025, we have repaired hundreds of air leaks within the company, thereby significantly reducing the load on compressors and contributing to energy conservation. From 2026 onwards, we will introduce Air Leak Viewer, which can visualize leaks in high places and difficult places, where leaks cannot be detected by ear, so our advanced detection system will evolve to be even more advanced than it already is. We plan to keep strengthening air leakage prevention, as an important theme directly linked to reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
Introduction of Solar Power Generation

Looking forward to realizing a carbon-free society, we have been gradually introducing solar power generation systems since 2002. Solar panels we have installed on the roofs of our Inasa Factory and our Head Office Factory have replaced some of the supply of electricity use in our factories with renewable energy, contributing to reducing carbon dioxide emissions and electricity costs. Recently, we have also been conducting experiments using simple solar panels to charge tools and LED lights, and we are considering applying this to charging forklifts in the future.
Energy Cost Reduction Initiatives

Upgrade to High-Efficiency Air Conditioning Using EHP

By upgrading our air conditioning equipment from GHP (gas engine heat pumps) to EHP (electric heat pumps), we have been able to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and save energy at the same time. This has also helped to reduce the WBGT (wet-bulb globe temperature, similar to the heat stroke index), improving the safety and comfort of the work environment. We also plan to upgrade the cafeteria area in the future, thereby reducing our environmental impact while creating a comfortable working environment.
Reducing Electricity Costs Through Compressor Operation Management

We have installed sub-meters at nine locations in each of our Head Office and our Inasa Factory, creating a system that allows for detailed visualization of power usage. As a result, we can accurately track the power consumption of each department. Therefore, we have greatly improved the power efficiency of our factories entirely by optimizing their contracted power consumption, as well as shutting down unnecessary equipment, and switching to LED (light-emitting diode) lighting. Going forward, we are also planning to replace the aging compressors, aiming to further conserve energy and reduce costs.
